  • Descanso Beach Club
One of the most stunning outdoor meeting and event venues in Southern California, Descanso Beach Club’s premier waterfront location and abundant offering of amenities makes it a popular spot for relaxing corporate meetings, casual events and weddings. A new look for Catalina Island’s iconic Descanso Beach Club will debut in September 2014 with the opening of brand new guest facilities just steps away from the beach as a part of an ongoing $8 million dollar renovation project. The centerpiece of this renovation is the newly established 13,000-square foot Clubhouse that will feature multiple meeting spaces with spectacular ocean views that take advantage of the island’s coastal location, a 7,000-square foot kitchen for catering, indoor seating for up to 200 people for meetings or dining events and a beautiful 2,000-square foot ocean view deck for outdoor gatherings. The terraced lawn looking out to Descanso Beach also accommodates up to 250 seated or 1,200 standing guests.
Adjacent to the Clubhouse will be Descanso Fresh, a gourmet espresso bar and ice cream shop offering fresh-made pizza, bakery goods, ice cream and coffee drinks for attendees to enjoy during meeting breaks. Waterfront presidential cabanas are also available for rentals to
accommodate private meetings or special events at Descanso Beach -- each of the three presidential cabanas accommodates up to six guests and is furnished with teak tables and chairs, chaise lounges, beach chairs, refreshing Oshibori towels, bath robes, a refrigerator, a flat-screen TV and use of an iPad with complimentary WiFi.
  • The Casino
An iconic building overlooking Avalon Bay, The Casino has been the focal point of Catalina Island’s entertainment and glamour since its inception in 1929. The classic art deco captures the beauty of and prestige of the Big Band area and is an ideal one-of-a-kind destination for meetings and events. Accommodating up to 1,500 guests, the 29,000-square foot Casino Ballroom features 50- foot ceilings adorned with Tiffany-like chandeliers, an elevated stage, raised seating areas surrounding a wooden dance floor and a vintage full-service bar with breathtaking views of Avalon Bay. The Avalon Theater is located in the lower level of the Catalina Casino and can hold up to 1,184 people for large groups and conferences. Spanning 138 feet across and 43 feet high in space, Avalon Theater is adorned with glamorous art murals by John Gabriel Beckman, a well-known artist behind the artwork in Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Nine panels of murals with motifs of exotic birds and flowers, a Spanish ship, hooded friars, leaping goats, exotic foliage, Indians and other themes inspired by Southern California’s scenery and history encircle the interior walls of the theater. The first theater designed for talking films, the Avalon Theater was used as a model for other famous spaces including the Radio City Music Hall and is today equipped with a full Dolby Digital surround sound system and projection room for screenings and event presentations.
Offering over a total of 4,000 square feet of flexible event space, the Casino Building also features a variety of unique and storied rooms including The Marine Bar, Champagne Room and Wrigley Room, all available to host groups and meetings of small and large sizes. Designed for groups of 30 to 50, the Marine Bar in the Catalina Casino’s mezzanine level was originally created in the 1920’s to welcome big band dancers and today exists as an intimate location for small meetings. One floor below the Casino mezzanine level is the Champagne Room, a long arch-shaped space ideal for private executive meetings and the hidden Wrigley Room, the perfect area for cocktail parties and receptions that was once used to entertain friends and guests of the Wrigley family.
  • Catalina Country Club
Adjacent to the oldest golf course on the West Coast, the Catalina Country Club is an intimate venue spanning panoramic views of the town of Avalon and features meeting spaces for small and mid-sized groups. With the club’s eclectic mix of Spanish Colonial design and sports memorabilia, the Boardroom is perfectly suited for a private meeting and features an inviting fireplace with historic décor. Ideal for conferences and larger group lectures, the Avalon Bay Room located on the lower terrace is an ideal space for mid-sized groups and can seat up to 45 guests. Other options include The Dining Room, which boasts ocean and city views from its multiple balconies and can accommodate groups as large as 80; The Pub, a casual indoor bar decorated with Chicago Cubs memorabilia to pay tribute to William Wrigley’s baseball team; and the Fountain Terrace outdoor venue space perfect for group mixers and post-meeting relaxation.

  • Descanso Beach Club
Avalon’s only privately owned beachfront property, Descanso Beach Club is the perfect place for beachside weddings. The beautifully terraced oceanfront lawn is just steps away from the beach and seats up to 250 guests for an unforgettable romantic beach wedding or ceremony. Opening in Fall 2014, St. Catherine’s Ballroom is also part of the renovation project and Descanso Beach Club’s newest wedding venue. Featuring over 7,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space with panoramic views overlooking the ocean, St. Catherine’s Ballroom will be an expansive 1,900-square foot banquet room accommodating up to 170 people.
  • The Casino Ballroom
Encompassing the glamour and romance of Catalina Island, the stunning Catalina Casino is a one-of-a-kind wedding venue. The art deco-themed ballroom is large enough to accommodate both ceremonies and receptions and features beautiful rose-hued walls, a 50-foot ceiling with exquisite art-deco chandeliers and a sweeping veranda surrounds the space with 360-degree views of Avalon. The Casino Ballroom can accommodate up to 1,200 seated guests and plays host to a variety of functions year-round including rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, dances and jazz festivals.
  • Catalina Country Club
The Catalina Country Club offers charming venue options of the island’s private oasis for weddings, rehearsal dinners and receptions for up to 200 guests. Perched atop a hill overlooking the picturesque city of Avalon, Catalina Country Club is a venue fashioned with elegant and classic architecture and features arched floor-to-ceiling French windows and rooms, a hand-tiled Mediterranean-style rooftop and a brick entryway that welcomes guests to the spacious, historic space. Set just off the main entrance and ideal for small intimate affairs, the Country Club’s Fountain Terrance is a classic elegant setting lined with ornate cement columns and accented brick flooring, perfect for up to 120 guests. Receptions can also be held in the chic Mediterranean-style formal dining room that boasts ocean and Avalon city views and
accommodates up to 80 seated guests.
