Pavilion Hotel’s relaxed atmosphere, personalized service, and resort-style amenities combine to create an exceptional guest experience. The central courtyard with swaying palms, tropical flowers and cozy fire ring is a favorite spot to gather with lots of space for social distancing. Pavilion guests receive a $40 food and beverage credit that can be used at Descanso Beach Club, along with a bottle of wine in the guestroom upon arrival.
Note: Pavilion Hotel will be closed November 30 - December 31, 2020. See you in 2021!

Originally opened in 1920, Hotel Atwater was the first hotel built under the direction of William Wrigley Jr. after he purchased the Catalina Island Company more than a century ago. He named the hotel in honor of Helen Atwater Wrigley, wife of his son Philip Knight Wrigley.
Nestled in Descanso Canyon just past historic Catalina Casino, Descanso Beach Club features Avalon’s only beachside restaurant and bar, where you can enjoy a fantastic selection of signature appetizers, regional favorites, and classic Catalina cocktails. Be sure to try the new Catalina Unquarantini cocktail, the perfect way to start your summer. Seating on our ocean-view patio is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Or kick your experience up a notch and have your food and beverages delivered to your private Cabana or Chaise Lounge
Descanso Beach Club will be closed effective Thursday, November 26 due to Los Angeles Country restrictions on in-person dining. We look forward to resuming operations as soon as we are able to do so.
Adjacent to the new Hotel Atwater, Bistro at the Atwater offers a wide selection of grab and go breakfast and lunch items, including baked goods, breakfast bagels and muffins, sandwiches, wraps, salads, and more. The Bistro is also a great spot to grab your morning cup of coffee or tea, as well as cool and refreshing smoothies, juices and other specialty drinks.

Get ready for two hours of adrenaline-fueled fun on TripAdvisor's top-rated Catalina Island adventure. After a brief safety session, you'll gear up and climb aboard a shuttle that will take you to the ridge top 600 feet above Descanso Beach Club. From there, you'll enjoy sweeping ocean views as you zigzag down and across the canyon and through a grove of towering eucalyptus trees on five separate lines at speeds approaching 35 mph.
Nestled in an idyllic garden setting less than one block from the beach, Avalon’s Golf Gardens is the ideal spot for an afternoon of family fun. This unique 18-hole course has been a much-loved fixture on the island for nearly 50 years

Five self-guided, self-paced courses—each made up of rope ladders, log bridges, balance beams, zip lines, and other elements—are arranged in beginner (2), intermediate (2) and advanced (1) configurations, offering aerial excitement for everyone, regardless of skill or athletic ability.
Experience the thrill and anticipation, as a trained bird of prey—with wings spread and talons extended—swoops toward you and gently lands on your outstretched hand. Catalina Falconry Experience in picturesque Descanso Canyon is one of the few places in Southern California where you can don the glove and “be the falconer.” Get to know our falcons, hawks, and owls as your instructor guides you in the proper way to hold a raptor, cast it from your glove, and then call it back again. You'll also get the opportunity to have your picture taken with one of these majestic birds, so bring your camera.

Also known as the Cyclone, Discover Two Harbors makes it possible to explore both ends of Catalina in the same day aboard the Cyclone power boat. You’ll depart from the Green Pier in Avalon for an exciting cruise along the stunning Catalina coast to the rustic village of Two Harbors, where you can do as much as you like, or as little as you want. It takes less than 40 minutes!

Discover Two Harbors will resume in the spring.
Discover Avalon on this delightful journey along the beachfront, up the hillsides, and through the heart of this friendly and historic town. This tour always receives the highest ratings for customer satisfaction on our visitor surveys. You’ll see and learn about colorful local attractions as your guide shares interesting Catalina Island history and folklore from the comfort of our open-air passenger vehicle. Postcard views abound on this seven-and-a-half-mile journey through scenic Avalon. Don’t forget your camera.
During the voyage, you’ll see a variety of colorful fish and other sea life as you cruise through what many consider to be one of the healthiest marine environments in the world. Advance reservations are required for groups and recommended for individuals. Night trips are also available for charter with advanced reservations.
Rumble & Trek is an exciting, two and a half hour expedition into Catalina's backcountry guided by a trained naturalist. Your trip begins aboard a biofuel Hummer as you rumble your way into the hills of Catalina. Once you reach an attitude of 1602 feet, you'll arrive at the Airport-in-the-Sky, ready for a 2.2 mile hike on the Airport Loop Trail, before return to Avalon via Hummer.

▪ Climb aboard an open-air biofuel Hummer and go in search of American bison on this exciting expedition into Catalina’s rugged interior. Catalina’s American bison, sometimes referred to as buffalo, are descendants of a small herd left on the island by a movie crew in the 1920s.
Come face-to-face with Catalina’s abundant marine life aboard the Sea Wolf Semi-Submersible, as you cruise five feet below the surface in a spacious, climate-controlled cabin. Every passenger has their own seat and port hole. Plus, you’re free to roam about the cabin to enjoy other viewpoints.

Surrounded by palm trees on a hill above Two Harbors, Banning House Lodge has been artfully restored and transformed into a charming Craftsman-style bed and breakfast, offering sweeping views of the Isthmus and Catalina Harbor.
Two Harbors offers a variety of activities and adventures for all outdoor lovers. You’ll find everything you need to plan your own adventure at the Dive & Recreation Center, including mountain bikes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, snorkel gear and more. Visit us at the foot of the pier.

Harbor Sands, our relaxing South Pacific-style escape, offers beachside dining at your table, private palapa, lounge chair or beach towel.

Harbor Reef Restaurant serves dinner year round and offers a selection of quality food, including locally caught fish, steaks, signature burgers and more.
