The Santa Catalina Island Company and USC have signed a long-term lease for the Island Company to operate Mt. Ada, effective December 1. The Island Company will assume management and operations of  the historic Mt  Ada, which is located in the town of Avalon on Catalina Island.
Mt. Ada will continue in the same fashion it has for decades – as an iconic bed and breakfast,” said Laurie Stone, associate senior vice president  of Real Estate and Asset Management  at USC.
USC worked with the Catalina Island Conservancy to find an operator for Mt. Ada for several months before choosing the Island Company.  The Island Company has also reached an agreement with the current innkeepers to purchase all aspects of their business.
“Mt Ada’s historic legacy as the former home of the Wrigley family deserves the utmost care and respect,” says Randall Herrel, Sr., president and chief executive officer of the Santa Catalina Island Company. “We are pleased and honored to continue that legacy  and welcome back guests who have been coming to Mt. Ada for generations, along with new visitors.”
Mt. Ada will close for the month of December 2014 for minor renovations and reopen in early 2015. Beginning Monday, November 10, 2014, please call the Santa Catalina Island Company at 877-778-9395 for information or reservations.
