The Catalina Island Company is seeking a full time seasonal Shoreboat Captain for our Two Harbors operation. The Shoreboat Operator is responsible for transporting passengers from vessels moored in coves within Two Harbors jurisdiction, on the west end of Catalina Island.  Operators will collect fares for passengers transported from vessel to vessel, vessel to dock, and dock to dock.  
The Shoreboat Operator is responsible for customer service, passenger safety, and fare collection.  Must respond to radio calls in a friendly manner, locate vessels within mooring field, and load and unload passengers and baggage.
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • 25 Ton USCG Master Near Coastal License (or above)
  • Drug Screen and background check
  • Live aboard preferred
Education and/or Experience:
  • US Coast Guard 25, 50 or 100 Ton Near Coastal License required
  • Boat handling skills and customer service experience are essential
Language Skills:
Ability to effectively communicate via VHF radio, with customers, and the general public.  
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand to operate vessels.
