Catalina Island offers a mild subtropical climate with warm year-round temperatures. During winter months, the average high is 63 degrees F and the average low is 50 degrees F. During summer months, the average high hovers around 72 degrees F, while the average low is around 65 degrees F. Catalina receives an average of 12 inches of precipitation a year, with January being the wettest month.
A light sweater or jacket is recommended for evenings, as it can get cool once the sun goes down. You may also need a sweater or light jacket if you venture out on a boat during winter months.
