Scuba Diving

Enjoy The World’s Best Diving

Two Harbors at the Isthmus of Santa Catalina Island is ideally located to offer easy access to some of the world’s best scuba diving. Voted “World’s Healthiest Marine Environment” by Scuba Diving Magazine, the water is clear and clean, with visibility ranging from 40-100 feet. Water temperatures vary from 55-72 degrees. Lessons, rentals and dive trips are available.

The island's favorite dive sites are within 15 minutes aboard the Two Harbors Dive & Recreation Center boat, the Garibaldi. You can also enter the water right off Two Harbors’ calm, sandy beaches, or paddle a specially designed diving kayak to a secluded cove. Dive masters are available for guided kayak dives or kayak/snorkel tours.

Lessons, rentals, charters and guided trips are available from the Two Harbors Dive & Recreation Center. They also offer diving and snorkeling excursions aboard their 45-foot catamaran, Garibaldi.

PADI Introduction and Certification Programs

Not a Certified Diver? Want to give it a try? PADI certified dive instructors are available at the Two Harbors Dive & Recreation Center for certification courses, refresher courses, or course completion and checkout.

A great way to experience the underwater world of Santa Catalina Island when you don’t have the time to go through a full certification course is the PADI Discover Scuba Diving Program, a dive experience designed for people who are not certified divers. The course includes classroom instruction and a closely supervised open water dive.
