All you need for a great island picnic is good food and a relaxing atmosphere. With views of moored boats bobbing peacefully and the nearby hills fading into dusk, this might be the best picnic you will ever have. Bring your own food or have your meal catered. Either way, this will be a meal to remember.
The crystal clear waters around Two Harbors ebb and flow into secluded coves, caves, and reefs, each teeming with marine life. Many of these areas are reachable only by watercraft. An ocean kayak gives you the means of slipping quietly into these areas without disturbing the pelicans and seals that calmly watch you glide by from their rocky perches.
Mountain biking on Santa Catalina Island is a must-do for avid bikers. The dirt roads of the island interior offer challenging biking and awesome views. Trails range from novice to advanced level, with mountain bikes and helmets required. Permits are required to ride on land owned by the Santa Catalina Island Conservancy. Rental equipment is available.
Hikers and backpackers both love the Two Harbors area for its diverse terrain and incredible views. Whether you are taking a day hike from your luxurious hotel or backpacking across the entire island, Two Harbors is a perfect place to start your journey. Free hiking permits are required and are available at the Two Harbors Visitor Services office.
Santa Catalina Island’s sparkling coastline offers some of the best ocean fishing anywhere. Sea bass, yellow tail and halibut are just a few of the varieties of sport fish waiting for your bait. Shore fishing, boat trips and underwater spear fishing are available.Volleyball

Grab a ball, bring some lunch, and catch a tan while getting some exercise playing beach volleyball. The upper beach at Two Harbors is a hot spot for beach volleyball enthusiasts. The warm sun, soft sand, swaying palm trees, and incredible harbor view create a perfect setting for enjoying some outdoor exercise.
Tennis

Tennis players love Santa Catalina Island ’s year-round perfect weather. Clear, sunny days with light ocean breezes make perfect conditions for playing a few sets. The courts in Two Harbors are free, so you can play as much as you want. Bring your equipment or rent racquets from the Dive and Recreation Center . Extra balls are available at the General Store.
Two Harbors was made for having fun. Whether you like snorkeling in the Pacific Ocean or pitching horse shoes after a barbeque, Two Harbors has the facilities. And in case you don’t want to pack all your toys with you on the trip over, the Two Harbors Dive & Recreation Center rents all sorts of recreation equipment.
