WITH MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND PERFORMANCE BY SMASH MOUTH
Summer Concert Series Features Line-Up of World-Renowned Musical Talent Including
The Wailers, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Rusted Root and Coleman Hell
AVALON, Calif. (April 25, 2016) – The Santa Catalina Island Company is excited to announce the return of its beachfront summer concert series, LIVE @ Descanso Beach Club, in partnership with The Xceptional Music Company. The summer concert series features an all-star lineup of popular rock, alt-rock, and reggae acts including Smash Mouth, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Rusted Root, Coleman Hell, and The Wailers taking the stage at Catalina Island’s recently unveiled beach club. The series kicks off Memorial Day Weekend with “All Star” band Smash Mouth performing on Saturday, May 28.
“After the success of last year’s events, we are thrilled to be back with an incredibly talented lineup of bands and performers from Southern California and around the word,” said Ben Villalobos, food and beverage director of Descanso Beach Club for the Santa Catalina Island Company. “We’re hosting the quintessential beach-side performances in a one-of-a-kind setting. Concert-goers can enjoy ample dancing room by the stage as well as the beach or relax in one of the club’s premium private cabanas. For the ultimate rock and roll experience, visitors can take the helicopter service to the island and pair it with VIP Access to Catherine’s Terrace.”
The LIVE @ Descanso Beach Club lineup includes:
- Saturday, May 28: Smash Mouth
- Friday, July 8: Toad the Wet Sprocket & Rusted Root
- Friday, August 12: Coleman Hell
- Saturday, September 3: The Wailers
From American rock back Smash Mouth, best known for their hit songs “All Star” and “Walking on the Sun” to alt-rock bands Toad the Wet Sprocket, world fusion-influenced Rusted Root, and the Jamaican reggae pioneers The Wailers (who have played and performed with legends such as Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana, and Sting), the concert series offers multi-generational entertainment.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with an opening act at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for Smash Mouth are currently on sale and tickets for the July show will be available in May General admission tickets are $45 for adults and $20 for children 15 and under. VIP tickets are $125 and include entry to the Catherine’s Terrace VIP Lounge with a private bar and pre-show hors d’oeuvres. Private cabanas are also available for bookings, and include butler service in a secluded area away from the main stage. Food and beverages can be purchased at Descanso Fresh, a throwback to the classic ice cream shoppe, as well as a beachfront restaurant serving BBQ fare and refreshments.
