On Santa Catalina Island, fish fly, the casino has no gambling and there’s a Third Street, but no First or Second streets. Even Catalina’s unofficial song is amiss — “The Island of Romance” isn’t 26 miles across the sea as the classic Four Preps tune goes, but a less-melodic 19.6 if we’re singing about minimum distance from the mainland.
