Sous Chef

Culinary Division

 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Reports to the Chef de Cuisine 
  • Maintaining the highest of departmental standard as determined by the Chef de Cuisine
  • Must stay abreast with industry trends to ensure culinary offering are reflective of this
  • Strive to uphold a safe working environment by ensuring all staff are working in compliance to the health and safety regulations set by the company and department.
  • Seek opportunities to increase food revenue, decrease kitchen expenses and maximize departmental productivity without compromising our guest satisfaction
  • Maintain on going training and development of employees
  • Manage through training, coaching and counseling
  • Responsible for the kitchen in the absence of the Chef de Cuisine
  • Carry out other duties which may be assigned from time to time
  • Able to work with, manage and motivate a diversified group of colleagues, through setting expectations &proper follow up
  • To provide quick and efficient guest service and respond to all guests’ requests
  • Complete kitchen orientation with new colleagues 
  • Ensure the kitchen areas are maintained in a accordance with health department standards
 
Qualifications:
  • 7 years kitchen experience
  • Valid drivers license
  • Strong communication skills with culinary team and all other departments
  • Must be an effective supervisor and trainer
  • Computer Skills
  • Able to read BEOs
  • Understanding knife safety
  • Pays attention to details
  • Highly energetic
 
Physical Demands:
  • Sitting 0-2hrs/day, Walking 0-4hrs/day, Standing 6-8hrs/day
