Santa Catalina Island Company is a thriving business located on the exotic island of Catalina and we have great opportunities for individuals who are passionate about hospitality and desire to experience an island adventure. We have full-time, part-time and seasonal job openings located in Avalon and Two Harbors. Restaurants: Avalon Grille, Descanso Beach Club, Harbor Reef Restaurant, Ben's Bakery, Encanto Cafe. Hotels: Pavilion, Hotel Atwater, Mt Ada Inn, Banning House Bed & Breakfast. Catering & Banquet Services.
Open positions include:
COOKS (2-5 Years Experience)
Motivated individuals that enjoy working in a team environment. Responsible for preparing high quality food items according to recipes and specifications. Coordinate food orders to support timely and efficient delivery to guests. Maintain consistency with our cooking methods, quality standards and operating procedures. Follow plate presentation and prepare food items for specific stations in a timely manner.
PASTRY COOKS (2-5 Years Experience)
Prepare pastry food items according to designated recipes and quality standards. Prepare baked goods – cakes, breads, and specialized deserts. Develop special food items for banquet/catering services and special events.
Reliable service oriented individuals to assist culinary staff. Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of our kitchen operations. Duties: washing dishes, cleaning cooking equipment and ensuring the surrounding work areas such as floors, walls and counter tops are sanitized. Also responsible for checking kitchen equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
Culinary and kitchen staff must have Food Handlers Card and follow proper food and safety guidelines. Previous experience in a high-volume, fast-paced, guest-centric environment. Cooking positions include Sign-On Bonus.
Bathroom attendants (Descanso Beach). Make sure bathrooms are clean, maintain supplies, report maintenance issues. Assist customers as needed.
Enthusiastic individuals needed to assist with front desk duties and handling guest registrations. Provide guests with general information regarding hotel facilities and local activities. Assist with food and beverage service. Arrange transportation for guests.
HOTEL FRONT DESK AGENTS
Individuals with excellent interpersonal skills who enjoy guest relations to represent the hotel throughout the guest’s stay. Manage guest arrivals and departures. Perform administrative duties to include telephone calls, guest reservations and run reports on the computer system. Handle guest arrivals and departures and address any special guest concerns or complaints. Work with housekeeping for updated room status and coordinate requests for maintenance and repair work. Proficiency with computers and administrative duties.
Reliable individuals with a professional attitude and gracious hospitality. Responsible for cleaning guest rooms, remove linens and replenish room amenities on a daily basis. Complete preparation of assigned rooms within scheduled shift. Report maintenance issues as needed. Address guest concerns or complaints and report information to supervisory staff when necessary. Greet guests and customers in a friendly manner.
All positions with the Island Company require the ability to work cooperatively with guests and fellow employees and demonstrate a positive attitude. Excellent customer service and good communication skills required.
